This ongoing program, conducted in collaboration with Self Employed Women’s Association (SEWA), is designed as a continuous capacity-building and innovation initiative to strengthen financial inclusion and digital empowerment among grassroots women workers across India. Leveraging SEWA’s network of over 3.5 million members across 128 trades, 18 states, and nearly 1,000 villages, the program adopts a long-term, iterative approach rather than a one-time intervention.
Structured around two core pillars—capacity building through fintech and digital literacy, and solution development through pilot projects such as M-Bachat and BETI—the program is delivered in cyclical modules that evolve based on on-ground learning and participant feedback. Each cycle includes orientation and problem identification, hands-on training in digital tools and financial applications, field immersions to understand real-world systems and constraints, and feedback-led refresher sessions.
A key feature of the program is its continuous engagement model, where insights from each phase inform subsequent interventions, pilot refinements, and scaling strategies. This ensures that learning is not only sustained but also translated into practical, context-driven solutions that enhance livelihood security and financial resilience.
