GIFT International Fintech Institute (GIFT IFI), in partnership with Ahmedabad University, IIT Gandhinagar, and UC San Diego, conducted the Fintech Foundations Batch 2 — an intensive multi-week certificate program designed to provide participants with a comprehensive understanding of the fintech industry. Spanning seven Saturdays, the program brought together expert faculty from leading academic institutions and seasoned industry practitioners to deliver a rich blend of conceptual learning, hands-on workshops, and real-world case studies — all within the heart of GIFT City.

The program commenced with Prof. Jayatu Sen Chowdhury guiding participants through the evolution of fintech and India's remarkable journey as a global fintech powerhouse, accompanied by a workshop on designing effective fintech solutions. Subsequent sessions explored critical areas of the industry including WealthTech and modern portfolio construction, Insurtech and the digital disruption of insurance, and Capital Market Fundamentals covering Indian financial markets, technology-driven trading practices, and blockchain. Participants also gained deep insight into Open Banking, P2P Lending, digital lending platforms, and Banking as a Service — all led by experienced industry practitioners.

The later sessions focused on the regulatory and compliance dimensions of fintech, with experts from Glomo walking participants through financial regulations, the significance of GIFT IFSC, cross-border payment compliance, KYB, AML checks, and data protection frameworks. A dedicated session on India's payment systems covered the backbone of modern digital payments — from NEFT and RTGS to UPI, IndiaStack, and the evolution of mobile wallets — with a practical business model analysis of Paytm. Throughout the program, BlockVerse Institute conducted online sessions on blockchain, ensuring participants stayed abreast of emerging decentralized technologies.

The program concluded on Day 6 with a capstone session where participants presented the fintech product ideas they had developed over the course of the program, followed by live critique and refinement discussions. Hands-on workshops on credit scoring for LendTech and regulatory reporting for RegTech brought the learning full circle, equipping participants with practical, job-ready skills. The Fintech Foundations program stood as a testament to GIFT IFI's commitment to building a talent pipeline that is deeply knowledgeable, industry-aligned, and ready to lead the next wave of financial innovation.
